Cheeses with no animal rennet and enzymes. (Vegetable rennet and microbial enzymes are halal)
I'm not sure about other brands, but Cabot cheeses are Halal. Cabot offers a broad range of halal cheddar cheeses that have met the rules and regulations specified by a supervising Islamic Administrator. All Cabot cheeses, with the exception of Colby Jack, Shreds, Slices (including American), 3/4-ounce Bars and Cubes are certified by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America. Cabot Cheeses are free of all animal by-products, and our cheeses are made without any animal rennet. http://www.cabotcheese.coop/pages/your_health/askus.php
No; Black Diamond cheeses- Old Cheddar, Extra Old Cheddar &any Processed Cheese (cheese slices &cheeses spreads) contain animal rennet. But, probably best avoid it if you're unsure.
Yes it is because most of kraft's cheeses are not rennet based and have microbial enzymes only.
Rarely. Many European cheeses are made with animal rennet. Joseph Heler makes their cheeses with veg friendly rennet. See this blog for more info: http://www.maison-de-stuff.net/veg/articles/00000001.html

Truthfully, recently I have read an article that says some cheeses might be haram. Some cheese can contain enzymes of pigs. You should call the companies and ask. Just like Kellogg Cereal and rice crispies are made of gelatin that comes from pigs.
