they are habitats ( or environments or cages or tubs, or just items) that are suited to the size of your dwarf hamster, the best example is :
HABITRAIL, they are a series of hamster products made by a company known as HAGEN, and they carry a line of cages known as OVO, and its got cage bottle food dish wheel etc, but they also have tubing (tunnels) but syrian hamsters grow up to 16 times the size of a dwarf, or just a larger than normal potato, and so although they can squeeze through openings smaller than their body looks, they could get stuck, the opposite goes for dwarfs, they may fall out/down tubes that are too big, hence habitrail has a dwarf sized hamster tubings.... they are skinnier.
CritterTrail sells habitats for small pets such as mice, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs. Their habitats can be expanded with "Fun Nels" to create an exciting habitat for small pets.
