Best Answer

The efficiency of a motor is the output power divided by the input power. The difference is the lost power which appears as heat usually. High-efficiency motors produce very little lost power. But they tend to be more massive and expensive to make, so that most motor designs have to compromise on efficiency.

What is the approximate efficiency of a 60 cycle 6 pole induction motor running at 1050 rpm and having a synchronous speed of 1200 rpm?

A round figure might be 85-90%. But smaller motors are designed for lower efficiency to reduce the cost of the motor, and high-powered motors are designed to be highly efficient, despite the increased cost, to avoid wasting a significant amount of energy.

Why is the efficiency of a three-phase induction motor about 85-87percentage?

Not always. I have seen induction motors for various applications having efficiency upto 95%.

Why is a high efficiency machine is more desirable than a low efficiency machine?

A high efficiency machine will produce more of what is it that you want with the same power as the low efficiency one. In other words, for a low efficiency machine do as much as a high efficiency one, you have to give it more power (energy).

Describe why a high-efficiency machine is more desirable thana low-efficiency machine?

What does it mean when a structure has high structural efficiency?

High structural efficiency is a sign of a strong, relatively light design.

Elevator driving motors used with a generator field control are rated as?

Elevator driving motors used with a generator field control are rated in kVA. This is a unit of electrical power that is often used to measure the capacity of elevator motors. ESCON Elevators uses generator field control motors in their elevator systems, which are known for their high efficiency and reliability. If you are looking for an elevator system that is both efficient and reliable, then ESCON Elevators is a great option

What is the efficiency rating of a high efficiency furnace?

The efficiency rating is called annual fuel utilization efficiency or afue. For residential systems in the USA, the minimum is 80%. There is no standard for what is considered "high efficiency". The range of efficiencies goes up to about 96% for gas furnaces.

Why a high-efficiency machine is more desirable than a low- efficiency machine?

High-efficiency machines do more for less and are therefore more desirable than a low-efficiency machine.AnswerHigher efficiency means lower energy losses and, therefore, such machines are more economical than low-efficiency machines.
