Best Answer

High memory RFID chips are ones that have more memory than the commonplace 768 bits (256 EPC plus 512 bits of user memory). High memory RFID requires high amounts of memory because its use case is for more than the simple identification tags used in supply chain applications. High memory RFID is meant to store, maintain and manage complete life cycle histories of assets with up to 24 Kbytes of information for extensive MRO activities or critical business intelligence required on the asset itself.

Tego has provided the high memory TegoChipTM to aviation companies including aircraft and equipment manufacturers and MRO organizations since 2008. No, there isn't any other high memory chips besides TegoChip that has passed the stringent AS5678 standards for flyable parts. Tego is an author of the ATA Spec2000 standards so all of Tego products' are guaranteed compliant.

Is RFID part of IT?

Yes, RFID both assists and is overseen by IT. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification chips) is a part of tracking assets including those of IT. It has become important in keeping track of the location and movement of physical equipment. The major contribution for RFID has been for the supply chain system, where RFID complements the DBMS (DataBase Management System) in the efficient acquisition and use of high-priority equipment.

Diffrance between rfid tags and rfid chips?

The tag is the complete RFID, substrate (what everything is attached to), antenna, capacitor(sometimes in the chip) and integrated circuit chip. The chip is the IC alone without the rest. There are some chips with integral antennas that serve as a complete RFID, but they have very limited applications due to extremely short ranges (millimeters).

Who is Tego?

Tego is pioneering the use of RFID to make businesses smarter. Founded in 2005, Tego is a pioneer in the passive, wireless, RFID industry. Tego delivers superior quality, high performance RFID solutions, based on TegoChip, TegoTag and TegoView software technology. In 2006, Tego designed the first passive, wireless, high memory, extremely durable, long-life RFID chip. The goal - to advance information gathered on assets beyond identification and beyond one EPC or static UDI number, to an interactive memory bank that captures, records, and maintains valuable information over a long lifetime of use. A truly ground-breaking characteristic of Tego's technology is its 2700 fold increase in memory capability allowing innovative RFID functionality through multiple read/write cycles. Another pioneering feature of Tego's technology is its ruggedness. Tego products are built to last 100 years, survive through exposure to high levels of radiation, and function across extreme temperature ranges. Today Tego continues leading the passive, wireless, high memory RFID market segment, offering a suite of RFID products and solutions including hardware, software, and kits.

What does RFID stands for?

RFID (radio-frequency identification) is a technology that uses radio waves to communicate between devices. RFID tags or chips are attached to objects, and RFID readers can send and receive signals from these tags. This allows for identification, tracking, and data transfer between the tagged objects and the reader. RFID is commonly used in applications such as supply chain management, asset tracking, and electronic payment systems.

How big is a rfid tag?

RFID size is normally determined by the size and configuration of the antenna, not the actual RFID integrated circuit. Hitachi sells chips with low-performance internal antennas that are the size of a table salt crystal. Most RFID tags are between 20 and 100 mm in length/width and very thin.
