the string family is all the instruments with strings. I for my self am a musician that plays the violin, trombone, bass, and electric guitar. those were some examples besides the trombone.

Keyboard instruments are both acoustic and electric. Some examples of acoustic are piano, accordion, harpsichord and clavichord. Electric keyboard instruments include synthesizers, digital piano and electric organ.
The string family instruments and is the subset of the guitar family or a plucked lute.
The banjo is a stringed instrument. It falls into the strings family, specifically, it's acoustic. (unless you happen to find an electric banjo)

The harp is in the strings family. Other instruments in the same family are: the violin/fiddle, viola, cello, double bass, electric violin, electric viola, electric cello, electric double bass, harp, laser harp, banjo, and the ukulele. There are still a lot more though.. but I felt like naming a few. :) Hope this at least helped a little.
