Basically a massage therapist that is a subcontractor is self employed and running their own business. They will be renting space from an employer such as a spa or chiropractor and the employer will be helping to build their business. The concept of subcontractor is that the employer has work (massage) that needs to be done so they subcontract it out to a person or company - just like you would if you were building a house.

As a subcontractor you will set your own hours, collect the fees, pay your expenses for doing business such as self employment taxes, supplies, licensing and liability insurance.

Many employers try to get away with hiring people as subcontractors instead of employees to save money. They won't have to pay the extra employee expenses such as unemployment insurance or any benefits.

It is the employers responsibility to know the correct employment status as they are the ones that will have to pay the back taxes but it is always good to consult an attorney when setting up your own business as an subcontractor.

Who can get massage?

Although there is no minimum age as such, I recommend that anyone under 16 should receive consent from an adult who has parental rights. That person should be in the room whilst the individual is receiving massage. This is in order to safe guard not only the child, but yourself as a therapist. Babies inside their mother's wombs can receive the benefits of their mother's massage.

What is the meaning of economic rights and moral rights under the rules on copyright?

Economic rights refer to the rights that have the potential to make money: copying, altering, distributing, or performing/displaying. Economic rights can be transferred or inherited, licensed and sub-licensed, and generally passed around, and exist for a limited time. Moral rights are more esoteric. They include the right to attribution, the right to have the work published anonymously or under a pseudonym, and the preservation of integrity (the right to protect the work from mutilation or "other derogatory action"). Moral rights are always retained by the creator, even if the economic rights are transferred; in some countries, the moral rights are retained in perpetuity, even after the creator's death. Moral rights are not recognized in all countries; see the link below for country-specific information.

Where can you buy copyrights for broadcasting?

Generally you would want to get a license rather than attempting to buy the rights outright. Where you get it from depends on the type of material; music, for example, is typically licensed through performing rights organizations such as ASCAP and BMI.
