The following is a list of known brown snakes in the United Arab Emirates:

Sand Boa- This snake is about 600 mm in length. It is a light orange-brownish color with dark brown bands.

Arabian rear-fang snake- Another common snake that is seen during day time. It can be either light or dark brown with darker spots of the same colour or black.

Cliff Racer- This is a common snake and harmless. It is usually found in the moist wadis and rocky areas. It colours and patterns can be different, usually they have a grayish background colour and either dark grey or dark brown stripes.

Sand viper- This is the largest viper in the UAE. It is poisonous, most active at night and can be seen sometimes during the days under shade. It is a sandy brown colour with darker bands and marks and has a yellow tail.

False horned viper-This is rarely seen. It is brown and has raised tubercles at the top of its eyes.

Leaf-Nosed Snake-This is a small, harmless snake, it has a fawn background colour and has a estimated 42 brown patch like shapes on its back from head to tail, It has a white belly.

Carpet viper-This viper is brown in colour, and has white and brown alternate markings from top to bottom.

Saw-scaled viper- One of the the most aggressive and dangerous of the vipers in the UAE. It is dark sandy brown and has a series of white markings going down its back joined by a black zig zag type line at the side of these markings.
