Mammoths lived in many different habitats around the world. However, they usually lived in grasslands. Some, such as the Woolly Mammoth, lived in Arctic grasslands (tundra), and others, such as the Columbian Mammoth, lived in temperate grasslands, and others, such as the African Ancestor Mammoth, lived in savannas.

Note that mammoths in warmer climates didn't have long hair.
