The term 'multiverse' is often used to describe multiple universes, or sometimes, 'meta-universe'. Owing to the paucity of proof of the existence of other or alternate universes the term is considered to have only hypothetical application at this time.
To the best of our knowledge, there is only ONE Universe. There have been hypotheses about multiple universes, but this is not something that has been confirmed. If there are multiple universes, the concept of "distance" between universes may not apply. To the best of our knowledge, there is only ONE Universe. the multi-verse
The idea of multiple universes is, like many other things, a theory. It could be true, it could not.
Parallel universes fall under the study of Quantum Physics.
One term that is often used is "multiverse", referring to a collection of universes. Note that this is still very hypothetical. Some top physicists believe that having multiple universes may be an unavoidable consequence of the laws of physics. But there is really no proof, one way or another.
A:Some scientists are Christians and, although the concept of a multiverse is necessarily only a hypothesis, it is possible for them to believe in the likelihood of multiple universes. To do so is no more problematic for religion than to believe that the earth is not the centre of our universe.
Nothing. There is no "container" for the universe.
The parallel lind is Basulinds answer to the multiple universe theory. Basulind can destroy all universes with multiple linds covering the lyers of universes in super-string theory. Basulind has devised a deadly WMD lind that is intertwined in super-strings to give super-lind-string theory!
There has been a lot of speculation about other universes, but it is just that: speculation. There is no firm evidence that other universes actually exist. Nor, for that matter, is there any firm evidence that other universes DON'T exist.
They are definitely NOT the same. But some of those modern theories seem to imply that there are (or can be) multiple universes.
That isn't currently known. There are several ideas about multiple universes, but in many of those ideas, the other universes would not be "before" or "after" (for us, time itself starts when our Universe begins), but in parallel, so to speak.
This is just possibility, considered by some. It may answer the question, why our Universe has specific characteristics, some of which look like it is specifically fine-tuned to permit life: if there are multiple universes, others will have different characteristics, even a different number of dimensions - and out of this multitude of possibilites, a few universes have conditions suitable for life. There is no evidence for other universes, and if they do exist, it is not likely that we can have any contact with them. This is just possibility, considered by some.
