Ghana is one of those countries, and happens to be in the Western part of Africa - i.e. very far from the country South Africa. The name is very clear. In the south of Africa, lies a country. There are no other countries in Africa more south than it. So its called South Africa. There is also West Africa, North Africa, East Africa and Central Africa. Those are regions, not countries. The region in the south is called Southern Africa, to avoid confusion with the country.

Africa is too vast and different in its makeup to have single "values and traditions." They change from the north to south and east to the west. Better question would be asked about the different countries in Africa, or the different tribes in those countries in Africa.
