If the animal built it and lives in it or it could be a place in the world that the animal lives in, for examples a penguin lives in antarctica , that is their habitat even for dogs and cats and other housepets, the house of their owner could be their habitat too!
Species of fish, deer, bear, cougar, raccoon, opossum, birds, and other reptiles.
I think the simple answer is that we effectively compete with all other species on the planet (expect perhaps some deep ocean life forms).
The danger faced by a specialist species is that its food source will run out, or its habitat be destroyed. A specialist is a species which survives on a fairly limited diet (e.g. koalas, which feed almost exclusively on certain species of eucalyptus leaves) or is restricted to a particular locality (such as the tuatara of New Zealand, a species found in only a few offshore islands of the country). Because the specialist has such a limited range of food or habitat, it is more vulnerable to loss of food sources or habitat than a generalist is. Generalists are species which can survive in a wide variety of habitats, or feed on a range of different foods (e.g. the Virginia opossum). As a species, they are far less vulnerable to habitat loss, or to the possibility of losing a primary food source, as they can adapt to finding other foods.
A habitat (which is Latin for "it inhabits") is an ecological or environmental area that is inhabited by a particular species of animal or plant or other type of organism. It is the natural environment in which an organism lives, or the physical environment that surrounds (influences and is utilized by) a species population.
The four major causes for the loss of habitat are:- * habitat destruction* over harvesting of species on a commercial scale* introduction of other species from other habitats* pollution
Umbrella species require large blocks of relatively undisturbed habitat to maintain viable populations. Saving this habitat also benefits other species.
In some instances, logging can be habitat destruction but it can also create habitat. Farming activities -plowing, tilling can cause habitat destruction while in some cases provide it. It depends on the species, its life history and resource needs. Other examples could be: development, road and bridge construction. Oil and gas exploration and development. Recreational use -hiking, boating, fishing. Development of new recreation sites.
Other species of fish! The actual assemblage, including sea-horse species, depends on the particular location.
Some species enhance their chances of survival by forming relationships with other species.
jackals,lepaords, the vyellow throated marten
The more we grow, the more we cut into resources and habitat, taking these away from other species.
Ecosystem. Ecology, the study of plants and animals and how they interact with each other and their environment. :)
The Porifera are the sea sponges. Some simple examples are the kitchen or bath sponges or other sponges that one can see diving -- from barrel to branch sponges.
