If the coin is missing the motto" In God WE Trust" it's likely also missing the date and mintmark, look at the edge of the coin again to be sure.

Is the phrase 'In God We Trust' missing from the new Presidential dollar coins?

Answer The phrase "In God We Trust" is on the outer diameter surface, also known as the "edge." But there are a few error coins which did not go through the edge-lettering presses. These are selling for several hundred dollars. More Due to protests from various religious groups, the motto was repositioned to the obverse (front side) of all Presidential $1 coins beginning in 2009.

Were the words In God We Trust not on the dollar coin at first but only added later?

If you're referring to the error dollars minted in 2007, the inscription is supposed to appear on the edge of all Presidential dollars. However a small number of coins were accidentally made without going through the machine that pressed the motto on the edge. Historically, all correctly-struck dollar coins have carried the motto since 1866 when it was first added. Any coins minted after that time without the motto are errors.

Four new gold dollars and the words In God We Trust are upside down on one of them how much is it worth?

The new presidential gold dollar coins are not made of Gold so they are only worth one dollar. The mint has made so many errors on the edge of the coins that it does not increase the value of the coin more than one dollar.

Who approved new gold coin without In God you trust?

The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is currectly found on all US coins. However, through error and production problems the motto has not always appeared as intended. This is why on some of the Presidential Dollars the motto is missing from the outer edge where it is supposed to be. These are error coins and have become collectable.
