food is processed so that it can be used for a longer life since after processing the shelf life of food increases. and also because food products like wheat grains cant be used directly first they need to Be separates from the plant and then need to be converted in flour so that it can be used .therefore processing increases the cost of the product but also reduces the work of a consumer
