Why is religion not involved in schools?

religion is a central part of many schools, both in the US and across the world. In the US, there are catholic schools and thousands of other faith-based schools. These schools are considered private schools, in the sense that they do not receive public funds. You must pay to attend these schools. they teach normal classes, but in addition, they also teach religion. Public funded schools are strictly forbiden from teaching religion, due to separation of state and church. If the public schools were to teach any religion, that could indicate a government preference for one religion over another, which is undesirable. Government and religion are treated separate, in order to acheive freedom of religion. State sponsored religion should be avoided, because it causes problems, such as civil war and oppression of other religions.

Should public schools teach kids about god and Jesus?

In Idaho, public schools teach evolution as part of the state science standards. Creationism or intelligent design is not part of the official curriculum in public schools as they are considered religious beliefs rather than scientific theories.

How many US public schools teach the Bible?

A:Some public schools may well teach about the Bible in Comparative Religion studies, in conjunction with the holy books of other religion, or perhaps refer to it in Ancient History. Presumably, no United States public school would teach the Bible itself, because to do so contrary to the law would demonstrate Christianity as being opposed to the principles of good government and morality.

Should schools be allowed to teach scientific theories?

Why is God not allowed in public schools and are there certain rights you have in school?

AWESOME QUESTION MAN (or girl)! God is not allowed in public schools because He might "offend" some kids or parents of kids that go to public schools. Children are not allowed to pray to God. However, I bet if you ask a local public school if their students are allowed to pray to Allah (not the same as the Christian God). There are certain rights you have in school, and that is you can have any religion, but you can't witness to other people. You cannot pray in front of other children, and teachers cannot teach religion unless its on a historical point of view. Is this fair, or unfair? You decide. :0) We actually studied this in school. The constitution of our country keeps school and church as separate as possible. there are multiple laws involved with the issue as well

Is it legal to bring in people from different religions to teach and test your children over their beliefs?

Is it constitutional to teach about religion in public schools?

Yes, it is constitutional for public schools to teach about religion in an academic context, as long as it is presented objectively as part of a well-rounded education and does not promote or endorse any particular religion. Teachers must approach the topic with sensitivity and respect for diverse beliefs to comply with constitutional guidelines on the separation of church and state.
