You should not mix pain killers. The methadone will make the percocet stronger and visa versa, and you could die or get sick from overdose.

There are no adverse effects of taking vitamin B-12 with Methadone. My doctor administers my B-12 shots and I am on a Methadone prescription for pain.

No.... Prescription pain killers can cause harm to the development of the fetus. If you are in pain, take Tylenol. If Tylenol does not work, call your OB Dr.

User Avatar

Yes. They are both just different brands of pain killers. But like all pain killers be careful not to take too much of either. Most addictive and abusive pills they make.

Absolutly not! You may still be able to join AFTER successful detox, but realize that there is no going back after signing. The military is now giving waivers to former addicts to make its quotas but for your sake and the sake of your fellow soilders please try to go at least a year on your own before trying. Good luck with your recovery and congrats on considering such a noble career. I just want to add to this. It's not like Methadone is ONLY prescribed to addicts. I take Methadone and it's prescribed for my chronic back-pain. Methadone is prescribed as a pain killer, because it IS a pain killer, just like any other pain killer. They DO use methadone to get patients off of other drugs because it's not AS addictive as other opiates. Plus heroin users are prescribed methadone to get off of it. Pain killers get a lot of bad rep. but if you take them responsibly then they can be VERY helpful. I was on Oxycontin for a long time and switched to methadone because I lost my insurance and methadone is a lot cheaper so it's a nice alternative, plus I like it more because you don't have to take it as often. I will admit though it would be nice NOT to have to take something for pain everyday but that's what life dealt me so that's what I am stuck with. But for the people out there trying to do away with pain killers like what I take, to them I say "to bad it isn't YOU stuck with the pain I live with everyday". I guarantee anyone that lives with the type of pain I live with would think twice about wanting to get these pain killers outlawed.

Pain killers contents a large number of drugs. You can take paracetamol in pregnancy.

Yes, I have been on paxil for years, I also have been on allot of pain killers. everything from aspirin, Tylenol, Vicodin, and morphine.

Yes, you can. But it is absolutley pointless because methadone is an opiod blocker. It clogs your opiod receptors and blacks other opiates from having any effects. I would not recommend taking any other opiates with methadone, but there isn't really any problem with them mixing as long as you are taking them both as prescribed.Methadone is an OPIATE BLOCKER, therefore if you do take them together you will be defeating the purpose of the VICODIN because as I'm sure you know VICODIN is an OPIATE and you will have no effects from the VICODIN. Therefore, what I'm trying to say is you are actually wasting the VICODIN and adding more DISTRESS to your LIVER AND KIDNEYS. So take one or the other, not both. You can mix vicodin and methadone, but if you are lookin to get a high off of the vicodin you won't....methadone blocks out the receptors that make you have that "high" feeling when you take pain killers. most people end up ODing when trying to take pain killers with methadone because they wonder why they aren't getting high and keep taking more and more pain killers not realizing that they wont get that high feeling.

Yes it is safe to take aspirin with methadone. I wanted to know so I called a pharmacist and they confirmed that it IS safe to take them both together.

You should consult you physician. Yes. If you are on methadone as a maintenance pain medication, there are other pain meds you can take for breakthrough pain, or to boost the effects of the methadone. One that is commonly prescribed to take with methadone is meperidine (generic Demerol) and phenergan. The Demerol is a narcotic pain med, and the phenergan potentiates (boosts) the effectivenes of the Demerol, as well as preventing the nausea that some people experience when taking Demerol. There are other pain meds that can be taken with methadone, but your doctor can best advise you on them, depending on your medical condition.

It is dangerous to take steroids in the first place, unless used under a doctors supervision to counter act an allergic reaction to a medicine. methadone is an opiate pain reliever, and is safe to take with steroids, which basically are human growth hormones.

User Avatar

Yes, you can. They are safe to take together.

User Avatar

DO NOT TAKE THE TWO TOGETHER BEFORE YOU TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! Methadone is a very strong pain reliever and could be fatal if taken with out a doctors supervision. I currently take 150mg of oxycodone, 160mg of Oxycontin and 30mg of methadone. so yes you can take both. but something to remember you need to take them at the same time or so I have been told, If you do not I have been told one will block the other. Also the methadone attaches it self to a different pain receptor then the Oxycontin or oxycodone so it amplifies the effects ten fold! It in no way blocks anything If taking correctly methadone is used all the time for chronic pain patients like me. it lasts longer then the other medications and offers a different type of pain relief. So when your taking methadone and oxycodone together you're attaching to both sides of the pain receptor. Which gives me almost 100% pain relief.

User Avatar

I take methadone and only feel pain relief from it. Nothing else. Maybe a little sleepy for an hour after I take it but that is only if I am sitting down and doing nothing.

User Avatar

If u abuse them take to many

Simple pain killers such as aspirin should do the trick, although if it doesn't, they make special flu medicine pain killers
