That is a very broad statement.
A " blown Gasket " will make an engine smoke terribly with either oil smoke or coolant smoke.
Anything beyond that like a bent or broken rod or seize situation or bearing failure will result in a very badly operating engine on the verge of destruction or being non functional at all. If it does run it wont be for long, but it will make horrendous banging noises as metal parts slam into each other inside.
If your wipers do not work at all. It could be a fuse or it could be the motor. Check your fuse and if its not that, then you need to get a new motor.
What is your 1996 Chevy blazer LS with a blown motor worth?".
No
No power, Not working, Not turning on, EXC.
With a blown head gasket the engine will still run, poorly with issues, but run. A blown engine will not continue to run from that moment on.
it has a moter
Cracked block or blown head gasket.
It would be more cost effective to replace the blown engine with a re-manufactured one.
Blown FuseIf the fuse is not blown you'll need to first check if the motor itself is good by figuring out which terminals are suppling power to the motor and checking what voltage is coming to the motorIf there is power to the motor you'll need to test the motor
Lack of compression
With a blown motor the car is not worth much,if everything else is in good condition you may get $600
Could be a faulty fan motor, a faulty fan motor relay, a faulty fan motor temp switch or a blown fan motor fuse.
