Vampires have been described as both bloated and emaciated, ruddy or purplish and pale, stiff and fluid in movement.
Simply stated, for every description of a vampire in literature and lore, there is a contradiction.
Vampires being creatures of fiction and imagination, this is the nature of the beast.
The only common thread appears to be a taste and need for fresh blood, and perhaps organ meat of living victims, typically human but some animals as well.
