30Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Interestingly, the part of the verse highlighted was given to British athlete Eric Liddell who had refused to run in the heats of the 200 metres event because they were to be run on a Sunday. He subsequently switched to the 100 metres which he won. The movie about this Olympics, Chariots of Fire, includes this portion of the verse being handed to Liddell by the American competitor, the favorite for the event. Liddell subsequently quit sport and went as a missionary to China where he died at a young age.

Throught out the whole Bible God tells us to honour him. And here is the reply of his people to his commandment -

"And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God." (Revelation:19.1)
