Ladino is a Jewish-Spanish sub language which was used in Spain during the era of Islamic Spain (12th-15th centuries) and was more or less extinct in Spain after the Spanish Inquisition of 1492, but Jewish Exiles continued to use the language throughout the Mediterranean (specifically Morocco, Greece, and Turkey) until most Ladino-speakers were murdered in the Holocaust or ended up in Israel and have declined to teach their children the language.

Arab culture and its rich poetry influenced Jews to write poems in Ladino often of a romantic nature. Some examples of Ladino songs and poems can be found at the Related Link below.

The most common Mizrahi Jewish languages are Judeo-Arabic, some Judeo-Amazigh dialects (that are basically extinct now), and some Judeo-Farsi dialeccts.
