What are some advantages of using a computer?

5. Ability to retain data and information for years
6. Global communication
7. Transfer of information Globally

9. Great for the military
10. Saves lives

I cam back to add a smart aleck answer. The typewriter is heck compared to the computer.
Well there are many advantages to using computers. Obviously one can look up information faster by using a simple keyword search other than looking it up in say an encyclopedia. Second the computer opened up a new form of communication between humans and even other machines. Before machines could not "communicate" with each other and computers gave them the ability to "speak" using codes of 1's and 0's. Humans can use computers to generate new ideas and send them across the world instantly. Basically the computer has put us one step closer to the global unification of information.
