Modern Israeli law protects a vast number of very different things. Some of those laws include the protection of the revered sites of all religions, the right of all religions to their forms and sites of worship, the right to vote, freedoms of speech, full rights for women, the freedom to be homosexual, laws protecting contracts, allowing for tort actions on numerous grounds, etc., etc. Israel has numerous Basic Laws which function more or less as a Constitution of the State (even though Israel has no formal constitution).
