Many people have their own views on this question. However, the answer to this question would be NO, they cannot live together they are found in different parts of the world. If you could the shops would be mixing them. If you was to put them together the fish from the cold water would live a very short UNHAPPY life, goldfish also excrete alot.

A fish can not be both coldwater and tropical. A fish must by definition be either cold water, which means it should be kept below 70F most of the time, or tropical, which means it must be kept above 70F most of the time.

You could go fishing at a lake and take a walleye, minnow, pike, etc. If you do get those fish for example a pike will only grow so big because it is in a small aquarium. If you are getting many fish you will need a bigger aquarium.

No, tropical fish belong in warm water; placing them in a cold-water tank would most likely send them into shock and could result in death.

If you can keep the water temperature at 72 F, then you can keep both cold water fishes like gold fishes and non-aggressive community tropical fishes like gouramis, platys, mollies, algae eaters etc with gold fish.
