The consequences of being obese are: Not eating breakfast=intellectual performance affected, poor eating habits=overwieght and obesity, inactivity=overwieght and obesity, overweight children self-esteem,Diabetes,bone and joint problems, gall bladder disease and sleep apnoea.
The biggest risk of being overweight (keep in mind, I'll be speaking as if you meant 'morbidly obese' or over 100 lbs overweight) is a heart attack. Your heart is a muscle, like any other in your body, and it's constantly working to pump blood all over your body. The more body you have, the harder your heart has to work to keep pumping the blood. You'll also notice a lack of energy, or potentially lethargy. You'll have back problems, knee problems, hip pains, higher risk of sciatica (inflammation of the musculature around the sciatic nerve, thereby strangling it, causing a sharp shooting pain down one, or both legs), higher risk of DVT's (Deep Vein Thrombosis) which is basically a blood clot in your leg that breaks off, and goes to your heart (this causes a heart attack, or a blocked valve... either way, death) or to your lung (pulmonary embolism) in which case, there's a 24% chance of survival.
If you're planning to lose weight, do it safely, and without drugs. It's horribly easy to do with diet and exercise. As far as the diet goes, there's a plan for that. I know this is going to sound hard as hell, but nothing worth doing is easy. Eat smaller meals more often throughout the day. Exercise is easy to do as well. Some malls will open the outer doors early to let people walk, and if that's not something to do, find a high school track, and walk that one time, every day, for a week. The next week, walk it twice. Third week, 3 times.
If you're very, very serious, I might suggest a Bowflex. These things are excellent for exercise. Just follow their suggestions that come on a disc with it.
You can develop Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. You can also get fatty liver disease and kidney disease.
diabetes, Heart disease, death, low self esteem and confidence, which can also lead to suicide. If a child is obese, the chances are very high for them to be an obese adult.
