The Himalayan mountain range runs across several countries, including the north of India. However, if you are really into mountain climbing, temperatures below −55 °C (−67 °F) have been recorded on the Indian-controlled Siachen Glacier near Bilafond La (5,450 metres (17,881 ft)) and on Sia La (5,589 metres (18,337 ft)).
