What are some dangers crossing the Arabian desert?

Of coarse you can die of heat stroke without water, can freeze during the night, can get attacked by dessert organisms like snakes or other desert bugs. It all depends on where. I've never been to the desert myself, but i do research for school a lot...

Thunderstorms can quickly develop during afternoons in the summer and drop a considerable amunt of rain in isolated areas in a short time period.
