Once you get defeated you can't attack again due to loss of resources such as arms and military resources and you would also have to sign a treaty or you would be badly humiliated !

You have to be a little more specific on which war you are talking about. World War I officially began on July 28, 1914. World War II officially began on September 1, 1939 (although some countries were already fighting, notably that Japan was already fighting China).

What war on the Eastern Front? If you are referring to World War 2, the US had very limited involvement on the Eastern Front, that was the area that Germany and Russia were fighting. The US provided weapons and supplies in rather limited quantities to the Russians.
