A show jumping course generally has tighter turns, maybe some short or long distances and more colorful fences than "hunter" courses. Even if you only have a very few jumps and/or a small arena you can still school a jumper type round. 2 fences set next to each other a small distance apart in the center of the arena can give you figure 8s, short turns off the rail, long turns if you set them closer to one side than the other. 3 down the center of the arena parallel to the fence will let you serpentine over them to help improve balance and collection, as well as lead changes. 6 elements can give you endless possibilities! You can set a basic hunter course (ex. single on the rail, 2 on the diagonal, single or 2 on the other diagonal and another rail fence) then shorten or lengthen your stride distances a little. Try setting one perpendicular to the end of the arena right off the rail so you turn, take one stride and jump. Most courses will have around 15 elements. If you don't have that many, set what you have and do it twice, or vary the start and end points. Be careful of oxers and only jump them in the proper direction.

You have to go and practice on your Dressage, Cross country and Show jumping via the trails thing. Take your horse out and follow the blue signs that will show jumps ( for jumping or X country) or a horse (for dressage). If you haven't built any yet then you're stuck I'm afraid. When or if you do practice on the courses, the points will take some times to show up on the horse's sheet.
