Look out for the colour wheel, complimentary colours make each other look brighter for example- Red and Green Orange and Blue and Purple and Yellow
Bright mascara and eyeliners look good as a flash of colour on brown and hazel eyes

When applying eyeshadow you want to make sure you blend in well. Depending on your eye color you can chose the right shadow that will make your eyes pop. Contrasts usually are better. Finally a good mascara will make your eyes look bigger. However if you want bedroom eyes then you would have to apply the mascara from the top of your eyelashes brushing down. That might make your eyes look more slanted but also smaller.
