All engines are developed to produce a certain amount of horsepower based on their physical characteristics. The most important features of an engine that effect power are the number of cylinders, the cubic displacement, valve layout and the delivery of air and fuel.
Air is a necessary ingredient to the combustion process of an engine and the more air molecules the better. The job of an air filter is to significantly reduce the amount of dust entering an engine while providing adequate airflow for the combustion process.
As an air filter accumulates dust, its ability to flow air will eventually decrease. This is true for all filters regardless of type. That is why a dirty air filter can degrade gas mileage or cause a vehicle to become sluggish
There is a direct relationship between airflow restriction and mileage. The theory behind this is simple, the harder an engine has to work to suck air through the intake tract and air filter, the more gas gets wasted in the process.
This impact is so dramatic that a clogged air filter can reduce mileage by as much as 10%. This is a number published by the US Government. Often, this decrease in mileage is not noticeable because it happens slowly and over time, but it adds up.
10% is HUGE, with the price of gas it's easy to see how important and valuable it would be to reduce the amount of time spent driving a vehicle experiencing a shortage of air.
(i.e Reduced MPG & Loss of Horse Power).
Hope This Helps.
should be on top of the engine. it doesent look like a normal fuel filter.
15 qts including the filter change.
Exactly 14.8 QTS no need to pre-fill filter.
That depends.... Is it a powerstroke. You see my 94 f250 was built in Dec. of 93 but sold as a 94 model, therefore it has the old 7.3 (nonpowerstroke) IDI turbo engine and not the 7.3 powerstroke, which I believe has a different size oil filter.
that would be the injection pump lift pump. the high pressure oil pump is also in that area
The 6.0L Powerstroke turbo diesel engine produces 325 bitchpower. yea that's right.....bitchpower
it's behind the drivers side front panel where the f250 emblem is.
it is none adjustable
It is probably the clock spring in the steering wheel
in the middle of engine on top, open the cover then loosen filter top about a 5 inch round black piece with ridges on it take out old filter, drop in new one make sure gasket is on right directions in box, replace lid, tighten top down, then start and check for fuel leaks
350 horsepower f250/350 325 horsepower f450 650 ftlbs f250/350 600ftlbs f450
what size are the bolts that hold a starter on a 1995 f 250 powerstroke
