Well, you gotta chose fish that live in the same conditions as the goldfish such as Koi. You could also do some researching and find out too.

What is the differences from a goldfish and a feeder fish?
a goldfish is a feeder fish. I kind of disagree with the answer above. Yes, goldfish CAN be feeder fish, but they aren't necessarily feeder fish. Feeder fish are really fish that are rather small and are fed to other animals, and that are for some reason thought as not being as precious as other "pet" fish. So a feeder fish and a pet fish are two different kinds of fish, really. Not all goldfish are feeder fish. There are expensive goldfish, more than 10 dollars per fish! Then there are those goldfish breeded to be eaten that are sold as 75 cents per fish. So there are "pet" goldfish and "feeder" goldfish. So, a goldfish is not necessarily a feeder fish.

No goldfish would prefer to have a lower temperature than any type of tropical fish, however some goldfish can withstand higher temperature if they are slowly acclimated to it! But in the long run goldfish would be happy with other goldfish and tropical fish with tropical fish... there is a reason you don't see the goldfish with the tropical fish in a good aquatic store.

Weather loaches (dojo) are a good choice, so are related fish like Kulhi loaches. plecostomus catfish, coreys and other bottom dwelling fish work well. We have had some honey gouramis with our goldfish for years and no problems. Most knowlegable pet store owners should be able to hel you find some peaceful fish that can live with goldfish. Avoid chichlids they will usually beat up on goldfish.
