This is a very big question, and it is difficult for us to answer because there are hundreds of schools that offer courses in sports journalism; many of the schools that offer a journalism degree allow you to specialize in sports reporting. There are no requirements for journalism in a secondary school. If you want to major in college in journalism it helps to have been on the school paper or year book. To have good grades in English and to have gotten a few things published in local papers. Write, write, write is the thing to do. Hone your skill and use it. Ask a favorite teacher to read your work and tell you how you can improve. Be ready for people to reject what you have written, but keep at it.

I would definitely go for the University of Nairobi's School of Journalism. Established in the 1960's as a collaboration between UNESCO and the university to train African journalists. The school has evolved from providing Post Graduate Diplomas in Journalism to now offering both undergraduate and Masters level degrees. Undergraduate degree is a BA in Journalism and Media Studies with specialisations in either Print, Broadcast or Development Communication. Masters degree is in Communication Studies
