I do not disagree with the above and hold it as a distinct possibility, but would apply the same logic to many things that generations before us took as "used every single day" like the horse or a farmer's hoe. Now they are still in existence and used but have gone by the wayside to "greater inventions." In line with that am thinking that we could all become "the next Internet" as interconnected walking WiFi devices with upgradable CPUs placed in our temporal lobes to interface with our brain.
