Britains main industry is now today finance which most of the money from that is made in London as many banks and insurance companies are based down there, many worldwide banks are british owned, HSBC, Barclays and RBS to name some of the bigger ones.

However there are more industries that aren't as popular as the rest like:...Machine tools, electric power equipment, automation equipment, railroad equipment, shipbuilding, aircraft, motor vehicles and parts, electronics and communications equipment, metals, chemicals, coal, petroleum, paper and paper products, food processing, textiles, clothing, and other consumer goods.
