One famous medieval event was the Crusades. There were 3 main ones, plus several, unsuccessful crusades, One of these latter crusades, known as the the "Children's Crusade," took place in 1212. Thousands of French and German children marched, and few, if any, ever reached the holy land of Jerusalem.
