I am assuming that you are asking where it lives. I know that at least some of them live in the Mojave desert in California.

i think they can. my pet tortoise went over to a yellow toy, looked at it, then walked away. then he went to some grass, looked at it, then ate it. this should clarify it. ------------------------- Yes, they are attracted to the brightly colored flowers in the desert. I have a tortoise that loves to eat bright dandelions. He can see them from quite a ways away, and will traverse great lengths to get to them.
