Also, it is often difficult to get a raise or a promotion if all you have is an entry level job. Entry level jobs are usually taken by new graduates who want to get work experience. That said, there absolutely are stories of men and women who started at the bottom and worked their way up, or turned an entry level job into an opportunity to get a much better position. But for the most part, entry level jobs are just to start your career, and they do not often lead you to something better in that company.
