In this passage Paul indicates that for the Christian believer all the major divisions of the world are broken down, namely those of race, of social class and of gender. This does not mean that these barriers do not exist and are meaningless but that in Christ believers have a deep unity which transcends their differences. All are now subject to Christ and live in a kingdom of peace and love where the greatest of all barriers between God and man has been abolished through the cross of Christ.
