Well I have a black lab mix and he is afraid of other or new people but he loves us he won't leave our sides.
Some learned behaviors are like a dogs I think, like if he sits and stays and doesn't attack humans and stuff like that :)

Some people are afraid of dogs because they have had bad experiences with them. But I personally, love dogs... ;) Some people just feel that a dog will hurt them. If people have bad experiences with them, then they probably are just sick of it and hate being around them. Maybe they have heard of people being hurt by dogs and don't want it to happen to them. Some people just don't want to be around dogs. Maybe it is the size or behavior of the dog that scares them.
