Plans to open Starbucks stores in India were scrapped for the time being, as announced in a press release by the company (July 23rd, 2007). The company is trying to get their application for store openings approved and it is taking longer than expected. Starbucks is selling some of their products in retail stores in some major Indian cities already, however.
