There are many important events that have happened in regards to the Israelites of Bible times. One event had to do with the Israelites' deliverance from Egypt. Moses was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of the land of Egypt, and also gave them the 10 commandments shortly after crossing the Red Sea. Later, because the Israelites showed such a lack of faith in Jehovah God, they were then made to wander in the wilderness for 40 years, before Joshua was appointed to lead them into the promised land. Later under the guidance of Jehovah, Joshua led the Israelites to conquer Canaan and Jericho. All of these events and more can be found in The Bible books Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, and Judges. These events are also referenced in Psalm 136:10-15, and Acts 7:17-36. For more information you can request the brochure "The Bible-What is its message?" published by Jehovah's Witnesses.
