The area now known as Ghana has long been inhabited by indigenous people as early as 4,000 years ago. Some sources suggest that the Akan, who are commonly believed to be the ancestors of the indigenous people of Ghana, first migrated to the area around the 10th century CE from the Dagomba area. The ruler who first united Ghana under a single, powerful African kingdom is unknown, as the people of ancient Ghana had little surviving written records. This mystery king was renown for his wealth and his political power relative to the other African states.

Ghana compromises of various tribes some of the languages of which are dialects. However the Akan language is the majority tribe in the country.

It depends on who is doing the classification. There are some people who don't believe that certain books are considered to be literature. For example, some people might view the Twilight series as not being real literature. While others will view almost any book you can read as literature. Some people don't view books like Manga and comics as literature, while others view them as having more literary qualities than some of the more "traditional" works of literature.
