Nationally, the ASPCA and the Humane Society are the two biggies. On line there are sites like PetFinders.com. Pet supply stores like PetSmart and PetCo also provide facilities for rescued cats and allow local rescue groups to bring adoptable animals in to meet prospective pet-parents.
Every community has local groups who foster rescued animals in their homes until they can be adopted. They are usually featured in the local paper, and are listed on PetFinders.com. Many private kennels give discounts to rescue groups and offer basic assistance rehabilitating dogs with issues.
There are breed-rescue groups too, for just about every breed of dog and cat. In particular, Grey Hound rescue groups work to make sure dogs off the tracks have a pleasant retirement.
Finally, there are fans of just about every other wild and domestic animal imaginable, who run one-man rescue and support groups or major shelters. Birds of Prey especially have rescue groups in just about every State.
Google "animal of choice" rescue for the specific animal you want to help. Just remember that most if not all rescue groups are on very limited budgets and are overwhelmed with animals that need help, so you may not get an immediate response and you may be asked for support.
The ASPCA also known as the American Society for the Prevention Of Cruelty to Animals, does a lot to not only save animals that have been abused but also to prevent abuse through the lobbying for the passage of humane laws.
ASPCA, Animal control, Humane Society, Habitat for cats or similar local organizations that spay or neuter, try to socialize and then adopt out, or return them to their original area if they are feral and there is shelter for them from the elements. Save the _________ fill in the blank for the many places that work to keep animals from becoming extinct. The last one I can think of at the moment is you....me....each and every person doing what they can to keep animals from starving, freezing or dying from heat. I read somewhere that cats will starve to death in the wild, there is not enough food for them to catch to stay alive. Help an animal, no matter what it is, they all need help at one point or another, report abuse!
Humane Society, there are also groups of police that are mainly used to enforce the animal abuse laws in most cities. They call these cops the animal cops.
I have already answered this! Look for: What kind of careers are used for helping abused animals? That is where i have already answered it. it is the perfect answer for this question!

Organisations which help endangered animals will usually have one. They help animals breed again, and if they can't, they clone them.
Go to an animal shelter and offer to help in their work or if you can donate some of your money. these organisations are always looking for funds to keep them going.
They help people who are injured in wars, after disasters and they help animals
SAFE - Save Animals from Exploitation.
You can donate money to the RSPCA. Some say that the RSPCA does absolutely nothing, but, in fact, it provides a helpful home to any stray creature. The more you donate, the more you are helping feed, cure and save these poor animals. With everyone's help, we soon might not have thousands of animals flooding into shelters each day.
they are red cross
There are a number of organizations that specialize in animal rescue, and these organizations vary depending on where you are located. Some of these organisations are the Humane Society or the SPCA.
