Wind systems have some very serious negative impacts on the environment. One of the primary ones is that they kill birds, bats and other flying creatures in their area. They are also fairly high maintenance systems and require trucks and personnel to service them. These service vehicles tear up local terrain and cause an environmental impact by their use of fossil fuels.
