· Conflict (In literature, Conflict is the inherent incompatibility between the objectives of two or more characters or forces. By its nature, conflict is unstable. One side must always win out in the end.)
· Character objective/motivation (Every character in a play has a motivation a reason for doing something they want or want to achieve, get, do etc.)
· Protagonist and antagonist. (The protagonist is the main character, usually the "good" guy in the story. The story mainly focuses on this character's experiences. The Antagonist is usually portrayed as the "bad" guy, or the person that goes against the protagonist and what he's trying to do.)
· Hot seating (Hot seating is where a character has been put under a spot light and is asked questions from the audience and must stay in character.)
· Thoughts aloud (Gives an insight into what the characters thinking or feeling. This might be very different to what they actually say/do.
· Cross cutting- (Crosscutting is an Explorative Strategy and is used a lot in Drama. Once you have created a series of scenes you use Crosscutting to re-order them and create a piece of drama that moves forwards and backwards-in time and also can move locations too.)
· Back story- the background story of the character.
· Cliff hanger (An ending to an episode of a serial drama that leaves the audience in suspense.)
