During US President George Washington's second term he Sent Federal Troops to suppress the Whiskey Rebellion, which was an armed resistance to pay excise taxes. He also solved the economic problem that might have ended the trade between the USA and Great Britain. This was solved with his support of the JaY Treaty which ensured this trade in exchange of the closing of certain frontier forts.
