A Leased Lin It has 2Mbps-10Gbps internet speed. The problem is that it is very expensive. 599/month and more.

The Advantage of a leased line is that it is a connection directly "laid in" for you - thus you end up with a dedicated connection - for high end business's usually, with higher speeds, lower contention and faster response times to any problems. Distance is also less of a problem with a Leased line as they can be laid especially for the contract - up to distances of *35kmsee related link

Typically they are used for people requiring extra high bandwidth, or with distance problems that require a dedicated line.

The only disadvantage of leased line is that it is costly.

I thought that leased lines (PSDN) save setup and maintenance activities required when using leased lines. They also save cost b/c a company does not have to pay for the entire network; the company can pay just for the traffic that is sends. Also requires less management.

Pros - Somewhat secure. Both ends of the point to point are always up, and no other traffic enters this route.

Cons - Costly, and when the lines are not in use, the person or party that leases the line still pays for it even if it's after hours.
