It's hard to say which ones are gang related and which ones aren't. Sadly, the location of murders are quite a good indication of this. There are places all around London which are very dangerous, but South East London is probably the worst (and that's not even mentioning Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, etc). One of the most chilling recent murders was that of a young black male (of which these types of murders are usually related (not being racist - it's true!)) in an ice rink in Streatham (SE London) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6330655.stm
But to find further stories regarding this, all you have to do is type "teenagers murdered in london" (or something like that) and make your own mind up on whether they were gang related.
Being a young male from South London, the news has become quite scary, and going out is not at all how it used to be. Any petty argument with the wrong person can get you stabbed or shot in the blink of an eye.

Gang members can relate to each other because alot of them have similar childhood problems. I was related to a gang member. Alot of the people in the gang lived in an enviorment where the father was absent. They usually lived with their mother and siblings, but no father and some of them had fathers in prison. Some gang members like my cousin did not have any real connection to family members. My cousin had both of his parents and his siblings in his life, but he never actually saw anyone in the family. No one in the family knew him. I noticed other gang members didn't seem to have any family structure either. Their mothers worked and they hardly saw them, and they had no connection to their family. They didn't seem to know most of their family. Some of the gang members resorted to drug use. Which was a result of negative childhood experiences and guilt they felt for their involvement in gang related murders. Some of the girls in the gang did not have fathers either and may have been abused at some point in their lives. 2 twin brothers in the gang stated to me that their father always cheated on their mother and was abusive. He was no longer in their lives. They joined the gang because they felt powerless against their father, and they felt being in a gang gave them power to confront him.
