Hermia is short and dark; Helena is tall and fair. (These descriptions are probably those of the boys who first played the parts.) Hermia is positive, optimistic and generous. Helena is diffident, self-deprecating, whiny and underhanded.

Who is Helena in the book A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare?

A Midsummer Night's Dream is not a book--it's a play. It is
meant to be watched, not read. I recommend that you get hold of a
copy of the film of the play and watch it so you can really find
out who Helena is. For now, I will tell you that she is a girl
whose ex-boyfriend is trying to marry her best friend.

Can you suggest anything for my Shakespeare performance - eg. any character tips on Helena from A Midsummer Night's Dream?

Helena - keep a disorientated voice. And if you are stumbling
around at some point make sure your whole body moves to it's own
accord.
I went to see a midsummer nights dream and it was very good.
Helena had a deep stumbling voice.
Demitrus - when you are not in love with helena keep a snotty
exterior around her.
I love acting!
