The fact is, Hermia and Helena, Lysander and Demetrius, they're not all that different from each other! Apart from their names and who they like in the beginning, we could not tell them apart from their speech or dialogue. They have no personality or will power of their own, which is why they are almost always controlled by the love potion that puck sprinkles in their eyes.
In the first act, Helena is the jealous one because both men love Hermia. Later on, (not sure if it's the second act or not) Hermia is the jealous one, suggesting that the only thing that separates her from her sisterly double, Helena, is the fact that she was not in Helena's shoes. Lysander loved her so she didn't act jealous. But the moment the two men switched to Helena, she acted the same way. This shows that they are kind of the same person.
That's just one way of looking it but I'm sure you could find critics who disagree.
Helena is Miss Low-Self-Esteem. According to her, she is as ugly as a bear and deserves to be treated by Demetrius in the same way he treats his spaniel. So when Lysander and Demetrius come along professing their love for her, she thinks they must be making fun of her because she is so much less attractive than Hermia. Then along comes Hermia, who is bewildered by Lysander's change of behaviour. Helena does not see this for what it is. She assumes that Hermia must immediately see that Helena is being made fun of, and if she is a good friend she would take Helena's side. Since she doesn't take Helena's side, Helena immediately comes to the conclusion that Hermia is part of this imaginary plot against her, and she gives Hermia a long lecture about being a better friend. Hermia expresses her incredulity: "I am amazed at your passionate words. I scorn you not; it seems that you scorn me." As crazy as Helena's logic seems to be, it is just the kind of reasoning you find in people who are convinced of their own worthlessness.
Lysander and Hermia would likely have got to Lysander's aunt's place outside the city, and have found a way to be married. Egeus would have been so angry that he would have talked Theseus into banishing them. Meanwhile Demetrius would have been frustrated and angry with tramping around the woods all night and have blamed Helena for the whole thing. Helena would have run off crying and have gone to a convent to become a nun. Demetrius would have become a crabby and abusive bachelor. Hippolyta would not have been impressed with Theseus's governing skills and would have murdered him shortly after their marriage. Lysander and Hermia, being banished from Athens, would have moved to Corinth or Thebes or some other Greek city, and become prosperous and happy. That's what I think anyway.
Egeus is angry because Hermia refuses to obey his wishes on who she should marry. He has arranged a marriage between Demetrius and Hermia, but Hermia is not cooperating because she is in love with Lysander. It can also be argued that Egeus is angry not simply because of her disobedience, but also because she has actually fallen in love with someone else.
Eleven become so angry with seven because eleven is an odd number but when seven wants to make out with him and add into him eleven becomes eighteen that is an even number and he gets angry over that.
Lennox informs Macbeth that Macduff has fled to England. This causes Macbeth to become angry and want revenge. He becomes impulsive and admits that he is gonna react upon his feelings; he is going to kill Macduff's family out of pure hatred.
Helena thinks Hermia, Lysander, and Demetrius are mocking her. This is because Hermia loves Lysander (he loves her in return) and Demetrius hates Helena. I would know this because we just did the play today in Lit class. I was switched out to be a part and got Helena.

Juliet teases the Nurse by intentionally drawing out information about Romeo, causing the Nurse to become frustrated and angry.
Egeus was angry with his daughter Hermia because she refused to marry the man he had chosen for her, Demetrius, and instead wanted to marry Lysander. This went against Athenian law, and Egeus felt that Hermia was disobeying him and causing shame to their family.

An alternative term for a thought or event that causes anger in a person could be an incitement or a provocation.
The plot for Midsummer Night's Dream: There are 4 lovers. Helena, Hermia, Lysander, and Demetrius. Hermia wants to marry Lysander, but her father wants her to marry Demetrius. Helena loves Demetrius, but he has no feelings for her; he loves Hermia. In the woods there is a fairy king (Oberon) and a fairy queen (Titania). Titania is in charge of a young prince (the prince was a son of her dear friend who died in childbirth). Oberon loves armies and soldiers, and he wants Titania to give him the prince so that he may make the boy a soldier. Titania refuses. Oberon sends his chief fairy servant (Puck) to go and find a flower which he can use to convince Titania to give him the boy. If the juice of the flower is laid on a victim's eyes, the next thing that person sees they shall pursue with the soul of love. Oberon used this to make Titania fall madly in love with him, and then he made her give him the boy. Oberon then sees the lovers going through the woods. He orders Puck to put the love juice on the lovers eyes. Puck messes up 3 or 4 times. He finally gets it right and everybody lives happily ever after.
