Not entirely sure what exactly the "factors" are, but my educated guess is WHY they get stressed when you touch it.
First of all, when you touch it, you freak it out. What is happening? Am I gunna die? What is this weird thing doing?

The threats to coral reefs are ocean addification, ocean warming and coral bleaching, carbon dioxide, water pollution, sedimentation, coastal development, destructive fishing practices, coral mining, careless tourism and ozone depletion.

I know of one. The Great Barrier Reef, located off the shore of Australia. It is supposedly the largest coral reef in the world.
